A video has surfaced online showing Alex Ikwechegh, a House of Representatives member for Aba North & South Constituency, involved in a physical confrontation with a Bolt driver in Maitama, Abuja. The video, recorded by the driver, shows Ikwechegh becoming hostile after the driver asked him to come outside to pick up a package.
In the footage, the lawmaker repeatedly slapped the driver, calling him disrespectful for making such a request, and even threatened to make him “disappear” without repercussions, stating his influential status. When the driver inquired about payment, Ikwechegh’s aggression intensified, with him daring the driver to continue recording and even encouraging him to report to the Inspector General of Police.
Ikwechegh’s statements included, “Do you know who I am? I can make you disappear in all of Nigeria and nothing will happen. I’m not paying you a single naira.” He further insulted the driver, adding that he could handle the situation himself without calling for police assistance.
