Falz Opens Up About His Beliefs and Why He Doesn’t See Fornication as Wrong
Falz, the Nigerian rapper and entertainer, recently sparked some heated conversations online with a post that caught many off guard. In a moment of bold honesty, he shared that—according to his personal beliefs—he doesn’t see fornication as something wrong.
The post, which first appeared on X (formerly Twitter), drew quick reactions from people across religious backgrounds, especially Christians and Muslims who pushed back with religious texts and strong opinions.
Not one to shy away from a deeper conversation, Falz sat down for an interview on Arise TV where he explained where he was coming from. He made it clear that his views weren’t based on mainstream religious teachings but on a belief system he calls “the religion of love.”
“When I made that post, people immediately assumed I was speaking from a Christian lens,” he explained. “But that’s not where I’m coming from. I follow the religion of love. And within that, I just don’t see fornication as a sin.”
He went on to raise questions about why society—and religion—place so many restrictions around sex before marriage.
“Think about it,” he said. “Two adults. Not married. Both agreeing. Who exactly is being harmed? What’s the real issue here?”
Falz didn’t just stop at his views on fornication—he also shared something even more personal: he no longer identifies as a Christian.
“I don’t call myself a Christian anymore,” he said simply. “I believe in love. That’s the foundation I live by now.”
