The Outer Banks star recently shared an update on her relationship status amid romance rumors with Jackson Guthy. “I am happily taken,” Madelyn revealed on the cover of Cosmopolitan on February 8. “All I know is that he makes me extremely happy. And I’ve never been happier or more empowered in my life.”
Although she did not reveal the identity of her boyfriend, the actress stated that she is content to keep their relationship a secret.
“Love is a little tight,” Madelyn explained. “And when you come across something like that, you fight for it. And you also fight to keep it, you know?”
The Glass Onion star also explained why she is being cautious about sharing details about her personal life.
“My point is that I owe no one an explanation. I’m a very private person “She revealed. “There is a part of me that is only for me. But, in retrospect, it’s obvious that making my relationship public made it everyone else’s business.”
Madelyn, who split from Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes in 2021 after more than a year of dating, revealed that being open about her relationship with the public caught up with her after their breakup. Chase has been linked to Kelsea Ballerini since last fall.
“During the breakup, I realized the negative consequences of that, realizing I had let people in and then feeling like I couldn’t get anyone out. It just slammed into me like a freight train “She stated. “I wanted us both to be happy and move on. People recognize the importance of having opposing viewpoints. In a breakup, there are no sides—there is no winning or losing.”
