Bimbo Ademoye’s Film Pulled from YouTube Over Copyright Dispute

Bimbo Ademoye has shared some disappointing news with her fans: her much-loved short film To Be a Friend has been taken down from YouTube following copyright issues related to the film’s soundtrack.

The movie, which had gathered close to six million views on her channel BimboAdemoyeTV, was quietly removed after a dispute over music rights. Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday, the actress expressed her sadness over the situation but remained hopeful.

To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel,” she revealed. “It’s sad, but life goes on. We had a little issue with copyright involving sound. We did everything right, but sometimes, things still go sideways.”

Without giving away too much detail, she hinted that the film might have to be re-uploaded—which could mean starting from scratch in terms of views and engagement.

“If we re-upload, I’ll be counting on you to help us bounce back. Watch it again, like, comment, share, subscribe—just spread the word however you can,” she pleaded. “It nearly hit six million views, and now we’re back to square one. But I believe we can do it again. Maybe even better.”

Bimbo also admitted she doesn’t yet have all the answers but trusts that things will fall into place. “Are we going to hit six million views again? I don’t know. Maybe we’ll go beyond it. But I know one thing—God’s still in charge.”

Originally released in July, To Be a Friend quickly became a hit. The short film featured Uzor Arukwe, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Kunle Remi, with direction by Great Val Edochie. Its success on YouTube had marked a proud moment for the actress and her team—until this unexpected hiccup.

For now, fans will have to wait a little while longer to see if To Be a Friend returns to YouTube. But knowing Bimbo’s spirit—and her fanbase—it likely won’t stay down for long.
