In a related development, actress Iyabo Ojo disclosed that she was accused of being involved in the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Speaking on the Glass House podcast with comedian AY, Ojo recounted how she faced baseless claims, including suggestions that she used Mohbad’s passing to gain attention, despite her genuine efforts to seek justice for him.
“They were even insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad,” she said. “I wasn’t around when he died. I wasn’t close to him. My only encounter with him was at the One Africa Music Fest. He seemed like a cool boy with his struggles and passion for music.”
Ojo questioned the accusations, pointing out that her advocacy for exhuming Mohbad’s body for an autopsy showed her commitment to justice. “There was even a claim I was paid for my activism, and another that I was eyeing a political position,” she added.
Both actresses continue to capture public attention, with Amusa celebrating her new bundle of joy and Ojo remaining vocal in her quest for justice.
