According to a chart created by former veteran Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg, Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs has risen to the top positions as the richest modern hip-hop artists, just as Kanye West’s net worth plummets.

Kanye West’s net worth significantly decreased after his recent anti-Semitic remarks led longtime sponsors Balenciaga and Adidas to end their collaborations with him. He had previously been a billionaire.

Hip-financial hop’s pyramid has seen its most significant upheaval to date, according to Greenburg, who posted on his Zogblog substack that his “two-year reign in the ten-figure territory is finished.”

Thanks to his varied empire, which includes stakes in everything from music to real estate, spirits, and startups, Jay-Z has returned to the top spot with a personal record of $1.5 billion. Diddy also became a billionaire, and then Gilbert “Berner” Milam made his debut thanks to his cannabis cookie business.

Since leaving Forbes, Greenburg has continued to compile annual lists of the “Highest Paid Hip-Hop Artists,” however as of 2019, this is his first significant ranking. He added that “the combined net worth of the five richest musicians has increased 20% from a pre-pandemic sum of $3.17 billion.”
