In a recent interview on parenthood, Jennifer Aniston revealed a sequence of heartfelt images of her father, whose longtime work on The Days of Our Lives earned him a nomination for a Daytime Emmy and a lifetime achievement award.
John Aniston was honored
John, 89, received a Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award in June in recognition of his lengthy work on the serial opera Days of Our Lives. Jennifer practically appeared on the awards stage to honor her father’s outstanding career even if the actor was not present.
John also leaves behind his son Alex Aniston and Sherry Rooney, in addition to Jennifer. In 1984, John married Rooney. Nancy Dow, Jennifer’s mother, and John’s first spouse passed away in 1980.

Who was John Aniston?
When John Aniston was still a little child, his family relocated from Crete, Greece, to Pennsylvania, where he attended Pennsylvania State University to study theatre arts before joining the Navy as an intelligence officer.
In 1969, he made his debut on Days of Our Lives as Dr. Eric Richards. A year later, he departed the show to work on Love of Life and Search for Tomorrow. In 1985, he made the decision to return in the role of criminal lord Victor Kiriakis, a villain known for seducing the women of Salem, Illinois.
