Jennifer Coolidge is currently enjoying herself in Hollywood thanks to her leading part in “The White Lotus,” and she attributes her success to Ariana Grande.

Grande spoke with Coolidge for the 2022 Entertainers of the Year cover story of Entertainment Weekly.

When addressing Grande, Coolidge referred to her as a “superstar” and asked, “I’m curious if you know that when people ask me how my life has changed… Yes, I was able to work on “White Lotus,” but I believe the real beginning was when you asked me to participate in the “Thank U, Next” video.

Coolidge remarked, “I mean, from there I got [the movie]‘Promising Young Woman,’ and this whole thing.” “In a way, you were the catalyst. I genuinely think that. I doubt I would be in this situation right now if you hadn’t included me in “Thank U, Next” and performed that imitation.

While Coolidge protested, Grande argued that it was “certainly the most incorrect thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

“No, I genuinely believe that! It’s quite nice, too,” the actress stated. “You got things rolling for me when I was kind of flatlining. Just let me say thank you. Even though you wouldn’t admit it because you’re so modest, I just want to say thank you.

In the 2019 “Thank U, Next” music video, Grande asked a variety of celebrities to take part. The video drew homage to a number of cult classic movies, including “Legally Blonde,” in which Coolidge costarred, “Mean Girls,” “13 Going on 30,” “Bring It On,” and “Mean Girls,” among others.
