The political feud between Ghanaian actor and political aspirant John Dumelo and his former buddy and best man, Fred Nuamah, rages on, with the former branding the latter’s choice to run in the Ayawaso West Wuogon NDC parliamentary primary as a betrayal.
On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Dumelo responded to a fan’s query on Twitter regarding his relationship with his opponent, revealing that “betrayal is an understatement,” fueling further friction between the two important people.
The feud between Dumelo and Nuamah began in March, when Nuamah accused Dumelo of breaching his vow not to run for office in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Dumelo expressed his dismay with Dumelo’s claimed change of heart. Nuamah said that Dumelo had given him his blessings when he first chose to run for office.
Dumelo passionately refuted the claims, underlining his profound sense of betrayal. He underlined that their link went beyond friendship, referring to it as brotherhood, and expressed his determination to keep their relationship going despite political differences.
Nuamah, on the other side, underlined the significance of unity within the NDC and advocated for a peaceful conclusion. He acknowledged their fraternal bond and emphasized the party’s advocacy for unity, implying that the matter would be resolved inside.
The alleged betrayal has fractured their previously strong friendship, raising questions about Dumelo’s willingness to reconcile and repair their bond in the future.
