According to Deadline, Jonathan Majors has been dropped by his longtime management company Entertainment 360. The firm reportedly chose to cut ties with Majors following his arrest in New York City in March following a domestic dispute. Majors’ publicists at the Lede Company have also dropped him as a client. IndieWire has contacted both companies for comment.
Majors was arrested on March 25 after NYPD officers responded to a 911 call about a dispute he had with an unnamed 30-year-old woman. The woman was taken to the hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” and Majors was charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment. Majors is scheduled to appear in court on May 8 to defend himself against the charges.
Aside from the legal question of his innocence or guilt, many entertainment industry observers have speculated on whether and when various power players would cut ties with Majors. Marvel Studios’ upcoming Phase Five film slate revolves around Major Kang the Conqueror character. Majors first appeared in the role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and has agreed to reprise it in several subsequent films. The arc is set to conclude in 2025 with “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and in 2026 with “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Majors’ arrest has yet to be addressed by Marvel Studios.
Throughout the process, Majors has maintained his innocence, and his legal team has claimed that they have additional evidence that could exonerate him.
“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” Majors’ criminal defense attorney said in a statement to IndieWire following his arrest. “We are gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney as quickly as possible, with the expectation that all charges will be dropped soon.”
This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle in which the incident occurred, witness testimony from the driver and others who saw and heard the incident, and, most importantly, two written statements from the woman denying these allegations. All of the evidence shows that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and did not assault her in any way. Unfortunately, this incident occurred as a result of this woman’s emotional crisis, for which she was admitted to a hospital yesterday. Mr. Majors was arrested because the NYPD was required to make an arrest in these circumstances. We anticipate that these charges will be dropped soon.”
