Portuguese football legend Jose Mourinho believes Real Madrid’s “so simple” structure is the key to their consistent success.

Mourinho, who managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, didn’t win the Champions League during his tenure but remains highly respected by the club’s fans. There were even rumors of his potential return to the team at one point.

Real Madrid has maintained their winning streak before and after Mourinho’s time with them, dominating the UEFA Champions League with victories nearly every five years.

On June 1, Real Madrid secured their 15th Champions League title, defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium, with Mourinho in attendance. Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Mourinho attributed the club’s success to its streamlined structure.

“Real Madrid’s structure is so simple,” he said. “Florentino Perez, Jose Angel Sanchez, the chief scout, and the coach. That’s it. It’s absolutely correct and why they win.”

Mourinho also praised his colleague, Carlo Ancelotti, who led Real Madrid to their latest Champions League triumph. He called Ancelotti a “proper coach,” highlighting his achievements.

“He’s not a social media coach, he’s a proper coach,” Mourinho stated. “He comes from meritocracy. Go to his office and see how many medals he has.”

Ancelotti, now the most successful coach in Champions League history, received high praise from Mourinho, underscoring his genuine coaching prowess over social media popularity.
