Apata community in Oworo District, Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, was filled with joy on Monday as Olori Teniola-Faith, the wife of the traditional monarch, gave birth to triplets after 17 years of waiting. The queen welcomed the babies in the early hours of Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, Kogi.

The Palace of Olu of Apata, Oba Fredrick Balogun, reverberated with songs of praise and dance as the residents celebrated with the royal family. Speaking to journalists, the Oba expressed his delight, emphasizing that the arrival of the triplets signifies a year of blessings for the community, Kogi, and Nigeria as a whole.

The traditional ruler extended gratitude to family members, friends, the people of Apata, and the hospital management for their unwavering support. He remarked, “Today is a day of immense joy and gratitude as we receive these precious gifts from God Almighty after years of waiting and trusting in Him.”

He continued, “I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude to God for His blessings upon this royal family. It’s no wonder that people have gathered around to share in our celebration. Moreover, I am thankful that both the queen and the triplets are in good health.”

Elsho of Apata, Ayodele Rufus-Balogun, hailed the birth of the triplets as a significant blessing for the Apata community, Oworo district, and Kogi at large. He remarked, “The jubilation in our community over the birth of these triplets to our Oba speaks volumes. We are truly grateful to God for this wonderful gift.”
