Justin Bieber is nearing an agreement to sell his music rights.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the potential deal is worth around $200 million and includes the pop star’s publishing and recorded music catalog.

The nine-figure deal would be Hipgnosis Songs Capital’s largest music-rights acquisition since purchasing Justin Timberlake’s catalog earlier this year for just over $100 million.

Between 2010 and 2021, Bieber released six studio albums, spawning a slew of hits such as “Baby,” “Sorry,” “Love Yourself,” and “Peaches.” His collaborations include “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, “I’m the One” by DJ Khaled, and “STAY” with The Kid LAROI.

At the age of 28, Bieber would be one of the youngest artists to sell his music rights. Many artists, including veterans like Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, and Bruce Springsteen, as well as Timberlake, John Legend, and Ryan Tedder, have cashed in on their catalogs in recent years.

Future sold his publishing catalog to Influence Media Partners in September for an undisclosed sum.

Investments in older catalogs have been seen as a safer bet than younger music, which is seen as a higher risk due to its untested long-term popularity.
