Kemi Adetiba Drops Trailer and Release Date for New Netflix Series “To Kill A Monkey”
After months of anticipation, the wait is finally over—Kemi Adetiba has dropped the official trailer for her latest project, To Kill A Monkey, and fans now have a date to mark on their calendars: July 18.
This new 8-part series, set to premiere exclusively on Netflix, offers a raw, intense look into how a single moment can change everything.
At the center of the story is Efemini—an everyday guy just trying to stay afloat—until an unexpected reunion with an old friend throws him into a world he never imagined. As bills pile up and options run thin, Efemini finds himself walking a tightrope between survival and self-destruction, slowly slipping into the dangerous terrain of cybercrime. With each choice, he edges further away from who he used to be—and closer to a point of no return.
Helmed by Kemi Adetiba—who wrote, directed, and produced the series—To Kill A Monkey marks her much-awaited return since King of Boys: Return of the King shook things up in 2021. This time, she’s crafted something just as daring, with a cast that blends familiar Nollywood powerhouses with some compelling fresh faces.
Starring William Benson, Bucci Franklin, Bimbo Akintola, Stella Damasus, Chidi Mokeme, Sunshine Rosman, Lilian Afegbai, Ireti Doyle, Teniola Aladese, Michael Ejoor, and more, the series promises high-stakes drama, layered performances, and Adetiba’s signature storytelling.
The show is co-produced by Remi Adetiba and Kemi Adetiba under the KAV (Kemi Adetiba Visuals) brand, with music composed by Oscar Heman-Ackah—adding even more depth to a project that’s already buzzing with potential.
With the countdown officially on, one thing’s clear: To Kill A Monkey isn’t just a series—it’s an experience.
