King Charles III’s recent cancer diagnosis won’t keep him from his planned international visits next year, according to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson. Wrapping up his tour of Australia and Samoa, the monarch is already preparing for a full overseas schedule in the coming year.

The Palace disclosed that Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, but doctors granted him a break from treatment to travel. They noted his recovery is progressing well, allowing him to re-engage with his public duties. “The tour has truly lifted his spirits and aided his recovery,” shared a Palace insider. “Despite the demanding schedule, it’s been like a perfect boost for him.”

This journey marked Charles’ first visit to Australia as king, where he holds the title of head of state, following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in 2022. Accompanied by Queen Camilla, the couple wrapped up an 11-day tour across Australia and Samoa, with Charles undertaking over 30 engagements. Key stops included Sydney, Canberra, and Apia, Samoa’s capital, where he attended a Commonwealth meeting.

During the meeting, the 56-nation Commonwealth bloc, primarily formed of British former colonies, aimed to focus on climate change’s impact. However, discussions took a turn, with historical issues like colonization and slavery being heavily debated.
