Hiplife artist Kwaw Kese has voiced his dissatisfaction with the treatment he received from the government and police after his arrest for allegedly smoking marijuana in public.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Kwaw Kese criticized the police for what he perceives as unfairness, stating that they overlooked similar offenses committed by others. He emphasized that the police lacked evidence at the time of his arrest and is now seeking compensation from the authorities.

“I have ample evidence showing foreigners engaging in the same behavior I was incarcerated for. However, there is no footage of me committing the act. Meanwhile, these foreigners, whose actions were captured on camera, face no consequences and are even guarded by the police to repeat their actions publicly,” he stated on Hitz FM.

Kwaw Kese maintains that his arrest was based on mere suspicions, indicating that the police had insufficient evidence to support their allegations. Consequently, he is demanding $1 million in compensation for the distress caused by the police ordeal.

In 2015, Kwaw Kese was apprehended for smoking marijuana and was subsequently sentenced to a day in prison and fined GHȼ1,200.
