Nenadi Usman Commends El-Rufai’s Move to SDP, Calls for Stronger Opposition
Labour Party (LP) Caretaker Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, has applauded former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for joining the Social Democratic Party (SDP), describing it as a positive step for the opposition.
Speaking in Abuja, Usman joined SDP Chairman, Shehu Gabam, in welcoming El-Rufai, emphasizing the need for a stronger opposition to hold the ruling party accountable.
“Mallam El-Rufai’s decision highlights the importance of a credible opposition in strengthening democracy. His experience in governance makes him a valuable asset in shaping a more balanced political landscape,” she stated.
Usman stressed that a united opposition ensures transparency and keeps leadership in check, reaffirming Labour Party’s commitment to fostering diverse political voices.
“The more united we are, the stronger our democracy becomes. We welcome all who are ready to stand for justice, fairness, and the well-being of Nigerians,” she added.
She also emphasized that beyond criticism, a strong opposition must provide practical solutions for national progress.
