Idris Elba Calls Lagos the World’s Most Amazing City
British actor Idris Elba has nothing but praise for Lagos, describing Nigeria’s bustling commercial hub as “the most amazing city in the world.”
Speaking on the red carpet at the TIFF Tribute Awards in an interview with eTalk TV, the Hollywood star fondly recalled his time in Lagos and the unforgettable experiences it gave him.
“There are so many memories,” he said with a smile. “Lagos—if you’ve never been—is the most incredible place. I had such a great time. The talent there is unmatched.”
Elba also reflected on a standout moment involving British singer Seal (Henry Olusegun Samuel), who embraced his Nigerian heritage in a new acting role.
“I got to see Seal acting,” Elba shared. “He’s acted before, but this time he used his accent—his Nigerian roots. That was a blessing.”
Another highlight came during a music performance tied to the project. “One of the special moments was a beautiful song written for the film. At the end, Seal performed it alongside a wonderful artist named Konstance. It was unforgettable.”
