The late Nollywood actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, fondly known as Sisi Quadri, was laid to rest in his hometown, Iwo, Osun State, on Saturday.

The comedic actor passed away on Friday while receiving treatment at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

His remains were transported from Ogbomoso to Iwo on Friday evening, and he was interred in front of his residence in the Agbowo area of Iwo, Osun State, on Saturday afternoon, following Islamic rites.

Sisi Quadri’s funeral drew a large crowd, including relatives, locals, colleagues, and well-wishers, who gathered to bid him farewell.

The news of his passing was shared on social media by his fellow professionals and members of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, the National President of TAMPAN, also confirmed Sisi Quadri’s demise through an Instagram post.

Toyin Olaiya, the leader of the first theatre group Quadri joined in 1996, informed the press that Oyebamiji fell ill while working on a movie set.

He mentioned that the 44-year-old father of two fell sick and was brought back from the movie location earlier in the week.

Olaiya revealed that he had sent some of Quadri’s colleagues to visit him at the hospital, only to find out he had been transferred to a private hospital in Iwo. He expressed shock at the tragic turn of events, never anticipating that his illness would lead to his demise.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Olawale Rasheed, expressed deep sorrow over Sisi Quadri’s untimely passing.

Adeleke extended his condolences to the late actor’s immediate family, especially his elderly father, Alhaji Oyebamiji, the people of Iwoland, and the entire movie industry. He encouraged them to find solace in Quadri’s impactful life, especially in the acting profession.
