Social Media Sensation Lil Tay Addresses False Death Rumors.

Recent events surrounding social media sensation Lil Tay have sparked confusion and concern. Initially reported as having suddenly passed away at the age of 14 in a now-deleted Instagram post on August 9, Lil Tay herself took to the platform on August 10 to clarify that she is indeed alive. The young influencer revealed that her social media account had been hacked within 24 hours of the initial misinformation.

In a statement given to TMZ, Tay expressed her distress, stating, “My brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m struggling to find words. It’s been a traumatizing 24 hours. I received countless heartbreaking calls while dealing with this mess.”

She added, “A third party compromised my Instagram account, spreading false information and even using the wrong name for me. My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope.’”

The initial post announcing her supposed passing referred to her as Claire, leading to widespread shock and grief. However, her last-known manager, Harry Tsang, emphasized that he couldn’t definitively confirm or deny the news at the time, acknowledging the complexities of the situation and the need for sensitivity.

Lil Tay gained fame at a young age by flaunting wealth and luxury on social media, with support from figures like Chief Keef and XXXTENTACION. Her journey has been marred by controversies, including her brother’s GoFundMe campaign in 2021, which aimed to assist with legal fees amid allegations of abuse. The allegations were later denied by her father, Christopher Hope.
