Lionel Messi has made history by securing his third win of The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, marking a significant milestone in football. The 36-year-old Argentine maestro was officially named the 2023 winner during The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony held in London on Monday, January 15.

Messi’s outstanding achievements propelled him to the forefront, leading the voting and surpassing fellow finalists Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. Despite his absence at the ceremony, as he was with his Inter Miami teammates gearing up for a pre-season friendly against El Salvador, Messi’s remarkable talent and impact were duly acknowledged.

This victory adds to Messi’s previous accolades, having claimed the prestigious award in 2019 and 2022. The Best FIFA Award stands as a testament to the exceptional contributions of the year’s most outstanding performer in men’s football.
