Actress and media personality Omotunde Adebowale-David, better known as Lolo 1, has opened up about her views on relationships, saying she would rather be a co-wife in a polygamous marriage than a man’s secret lover.
Speaking during a podcast chat with actress Bimbo Akintola, Lolo emphasized the importance of honesty and fairness in relationships. She explained that a man who chooses to be polygamous is at least being open about it — unlike those who keep side relationships hidden.
“I would prefer a man to be polygamous than to be married and keep a side chick. That’s the one I can’t deal with,” she said.
According to her, polygamy provides a level of transparency and equality, where each wife knows her place and is treated fairly, instead of dealing with secrecy and betrayal.
Bimbo Akintola, on the other hand, shared her thoughts on why secret relationships seem to be increasing. She believes it stems from men marrying women considered “wife material” rather than the ones they truly love — which eventually drives them to seek affection elsewhere.
Her comments come a few months after she went public with her own relationship. The veteran actress introduced her partner, Emmanuel Lawrence, in a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating his birthday, where she expressed her love and shared joyful photos of them together.
