Manchester City’s midfield star, Kevin de Bruyne, is seemingly considering a potential move to the Saudi Pro League in the future. De Bruyne has been a standout midfielder over the past decade, particularly known for his knack for providing assists.

Originally joining German side VfL Wolfsburg in 2014 after struggling to make an impact at Chelsea, the Belgian playmaker quickly rose to prominence. Within a season at Wolfsburg, his remarkable performances caught the eye of Manchester City, who secured his services for a hefty fee of €76 million in 2015.

Since then, De Bruyne has been a key figure for Manchester City, showcasing his talents with 149 goals and 254 assists in 611 appearances for the club.

Following reports of interest from Saudi Pro League clubs after helping Manchester City clinch their fourth consecutive Premier League title, De Bruyne hinted at the possibility of a move to Saudi Arabia in an interview with HLN.

Approached about the prospect of joining the Saudi Pro League, De Bruyne, who will turn 33 on June 28, 2024, expressed openness to the idea. He acknowledged the financial allure of such a move at this stage of his career and mentioned that an exotic adventure would appeal to his wife as well.

Reflecting on the potential move, De Bruyne remarked, “Saudi? At my age, you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career, you have to think about that. For my wife, an exotic adventure is okay. I have to think about my future.”
