Red Devils beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Wembley Stadium, claiming their 1st trophy since 2017
On Sunday, Manchester United defeated Newcastle United 2-0 to win the 2023 English League Cup (Carabao Cup).
The Red Devils won their first trophy since 2017 after first-half goals from Casemiro and Newcastle United’s Sven Botman (own goal) at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Manchester United won their sixth Carabao Cup.
Manchester United’s most recent triumph came six years ago when they won the UEFA Europa League under Jose Mourinho.
They won the League Cup the previous season, just a few months before winning the Europa League in Stockholm.
Meanwhile, Dutch national Erik ten Hag, 53, who was hired as Manchester United manager in 2022, has won his first trophy.
