According to RadarOnline.com, Cannon’s decision comes as his family continues to grow, with the recent arrival of his 12th child.
Since their divorce in 2014, the couple has had an amicable joint custody arrangement, but Carey intends to petition for primary custody of their 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
“The reality is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. “Nick doesn’t see much of them,” a source said, admitting that Nick is a “doting” father who tries to see his children as much as possible.
“But she wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children,” the source adds. She also wants legal recognition as the twins’ primary caregiver.”
While Carey “isn’t trying to punish Cannon,” she believes the move is in the best interests of their children.
The “Wild ‘N Out” host and Alyssa Scott welcomed their 12th child, a daughter named Halo Marie, last month. Zen, the couple’s first child, died at the age of five months from brain cancer.
Cannon and Abby De La Rosa have a daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin, and twins, Zion and Zillion. He also has a son with Bre Tiesi, a daughter with LaNisha Cole, and three kids with Brittany Bell.
Despite having a brood of twelve children, the busy father makes every effort to be present in his children’s lives.
“Contrary to popular belief, I’m probably more engaged throughout my children’s days than the average adult,” Cannon told Men’s Health. “If I’m not physically in the same city as my kids, I talk to them before they go to school via FaceTime and other means. Then, when I’m [in the same city], I drive my kids to school, making sure I pick them up. All of that, plus making sure I’m available for all extracurricular activities. Every week, I do everything from coaching to guitar lessons with my daughter.”
