Actress Martha Ankomah has reportedly initiated legal action against Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, commonly known as LilWin.

The lawsuit stems from LilWin’s recent public criticism of Martha, alleging her refusal to collaborate on Kumawood projects and other related matters.

LilWin expressed his displeasure with Martha’s remarks made during media interviews, where she questioned the quality of recent Kumawood movies compared to the era of Agya Koo. In a viral video, LilWin used strong language towards Martha, sparking controversy.

Martha’s earlier interviews with Hitz FM in 2017 and Accra FM in 2023 resurfaced during LilWin’s criticism of Dr. Likee’s camp. Martha had expressed dissatisfaction with the trend of witchcraft-themed storylines in recent Kumawood productions.

On February 15, 2024, Martha, represented by her legal team, filed a lawsuit against LilWin.

In the writ of summons, Martha seeks 5 million Ghana cedis in damages for LilWin’s defamatory statements. She also demands compensatory damages for the tarnishing of her reputation.

LilWin has been given an eight-day ultimatum to appear before an Accra High Court or face legal repercussions.
