Tensions run high in the countdown to Charles III’s coronation.
Although Meghan Markle will not be present at King Charles III’s coronation in May, she is reportedly intent on causing more controversy.
“Even though Meghan does not intend to attend, she wants to do as much damage to the royal family as possible,” GB News host and Daily Mail columnist Dan Wootton told Sky News.
Many have emphasized the timing of reports that the 41-year-old Hollywood actress has been writing letters to Charles outlining her concerns about racism in the royal family.
Prince Harry will attend his father’s coronation while his wife, Meghan Markle, will remain in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The couple’s relationship with the royal family has been strained for some time.
The Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, as well as Harry’s best-selling memoir Spare, have proven to be two points of contention in the two parties’ hostility.
A birthday party to match a royal coronation
Prince Harry will miss Prince Archie’s fourth birthday because of the royal coronation.
According to various royal commentators, Markle is planning a birthday party for their son on the same day as the coronation in an attempt to overshadow it.
“It’s terribly petty, but the Sussexes, who no longer have their royal platform, seem to relish any opportunity to attempt to upstage a royal occasion,” royal columnist Lee Cohen said to the Express.
Archie’s birthday party could have a celebrity guest list. According to the Mirror, Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, and Portia de Rossi may all be in attendance.
Some sources are adamant that Markle will steal the show on Charles’ wedding day.
“She still wants to bring down the royal family,” Wootton said, according to Sky News. “However, she will be unsuccessful.”
