Michelle Williams opens up about Destiny’s Child’s last album and her hopes for a reunion.

Michelle Williams, one-third of the iconic group Destiny’s Child, recently appeared on The Terrell Show and shared her thoughts on the group’s final album, Destiny Fulfilled, released back in 2004. The 43-year-old singer revealed that she had no idea it would be their last album and expressed her desire for the group to still be together.

During the interview, Williams explained that the original plan for the group, which also included Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, was to work on solo projects followed by a group project, and so on. However, she admitted that she did not want Destiny Fulfilled to be their final album. When asked by host Terrell Rice if she knew it was going to be the end, Williams candidly shared her feelings about the group splitting in 2006.

“I didn’t want it to be. I don’t know if we wanted it to be the last album,” she said. “But that’s the way it is. But if it was up to me, we’d still be flip-flopping. We’d still be group, solo, group solo.”

Despite the group’s disbandment, Williams expressed hope for a reunion. She mentioned that she doesn’t know why Destiny Fulfilled became their last album and asserted that she genuinely doesn’t have the answer. However, she remains optimistic that if they all wanted to come together again, the opportunity would be there.

“I don’t know [why it was the last album]. I promise you I don’t. I promise you I don’t. I’m quite positive that should we want to do one, I know the door is open for us to do that,” Williams shared.

In May, Beyoncé’s father and the group’s manager, Mathew Knowles, mentioned in an interview with ET that the decision for a reunion lies solely with the group. As of now, Destiny’s Child fans can still hold on to the hope that their favorite trio might reunite someday.

In an interview with ET, Mathew Knowles, the manager of Destiny’s Child, shared his thoughts on the possibility of a reunion. Knowles emphasized that the decision ultimately lies with the ladies of the group and assured them that he would wholeheartedly support their choice. As the manager who still oversees Destiny’s Child, he understands the immense impact a reunion would have on the fans, who have eagerly anticipated it since the group disbanded in 2006.

Knowles acknowledged the overwhelming joy that fans would experience if a reunion were to happen. He expressed his hopes that Destiny’s Child would consider creating one last album together, acknowledging that in the world of entertainment, anything can happen. Knowles recognized the power of surprises and the anticipation that comes with unexpected moments, highlighting the desire for spontaneity and the delight that Destiny’s Child reunion would bring.

Kelly Rowland, another member of the group, previously hinted at the possibility of a reunion, mentioning the importance of surprises and expressing the hope that Destiny’s Child could pleasantly surprise their devoted fans.

While the decision ultimately rests with the group, Mathew Knowles’ support and the shared sentiments of the members continue to fuel excitement and anticipation for a potential reunion of Destiny’s Child.
