Reality TV star Phyna Otabor has raised serious concerns against the Dangote Group, accusing the company of failing to fulfill its promise to sponsor her sister, Ruth Otabor, for treatment abroad after a tragic accident involving one of its cement trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

The accident left Ruth with devastating injuries, including the loss of one leg and severe internal complications. Eyewitnesses said the truck ran over her leg before being forced to stop by a bystander.

Phyna explained that when representatives of the company visited the hospital, she asked that her sister be flown to India for advanced medical care. According to her, the officials initially assured the family that the matter would be handled with transparency and even suggested Ruth be moved to Lagoon Hospital as a step before her transfer overseas.

However, she revealed during an Instagram Live session that communication with the company has since broken down. She claimed the official handling the case now insists that further steps depend on medical advice, despite hospital management stating that Ruth’s condition cannot be adequately treated in Nigeria.

Phyna went on to detail her sister’s condition: fluid in the lungs, a crushed bladder, injuries to her reproductive organs, multiple fractures, colostomy, tracheostomy, blood transfusions, as well as chest and pelvic trauma. Ruth has yet to regain consciousness and is currently on life support.

Phyna accused the company of trying to distance itself from responsibility, alleging that the representative has stopped responding to her messages.

“My sister hasn’t woken up for days. She’s on life support, on a vent machine, and still no response. From what the medical team told me, she will be in the hospital for a very long time. That’s how badly she was crushed,” she said.

As of now, the Dangote Group has not issued any response to Phyna’s latest claims.
