Naira Marley, the Nigerian singer, has taken a strong stance against actress Iyabo Ojo, issuing a threat to pursue legal action unless she retracts her damaging statements. The actress had previously claimed that Naira Marley was involved in drugging her children’s food and drinks, vowing to bring her own case against him after the government’s legal proceedings.
In response, Naira Marley, through legal representation from Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co., sent a letter to Iyabo Ojo, accusing her of spreading harmful and inaccurate information through her Instagram account. The letter highlighted a specific post from September 2023 in which Iyabo accused Naira Marley of having both spiritual and physical encounters with the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. The actress also alleged that Naira Marley mentally tortured Mohbad.
The singer’s attorney, in the letter, requested Iyabo Ojo to issue a public apology on her official Instagram account and in a national daily within seven days of receiving the letter. Failure to comply would result in legal action, with Naira Marley seeking damages of N500 million from the actress.
This development adds a legal dimension to the ongoing feud between Naira Marley and Iyabo Ojo, with potential consequences for both parties depending on the resolution of the situation.
