New Curfew Hours Imposed in Bimbila and Kpatinga Townships

In a move to address security concerns, the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has announced the renewal of curfew hours in Bimbila and Kpatinga townships. This decision comes after careful consideration and advice from the Northern Regional Security Council.

Effective from Friday, June 16, 2023, the new curfew hours will be from 12:00 midnight to 4:00 am. This measure aims to enhance the safety and well-being of residents during the specified period.

Furthermore, the statement released by the ministry emphasizes a strict prohibition on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon in the Bimbila Township and its surrounding areas. Any individual found in possession of such items will face legal consequences, including arrest and prosecution.

The authorities have urged the residents, including chiefs, opinion leaders, and the youth, to maintain composure and refrain from resorting to violence. Instead, they are encouraged to explore peaceful avenues to address the challenges they face and contribute to the restoration of peace in the area.

By implementing these curfew hours and reinforcing the ban on weapons, the government aims to ensure the safety and security of the community. It is crucial for everyone to cooperate and work towards a harmonious and peaceful environment for all residents.
