Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj gave fans a sneak peek of her upcoming song, sharing a snippet and poignant lyrics from the track. In a tweet, she hinted at the emotional content, saying, “Begging me to stay, and then you walk away. There’s something that you wanted to say. I was in a rush, and you said you were crushed. But I said I’d be back; it’s OK.”
The lyrics continued, “I wish I’d hugged you tighter the last time that I saw you. I wish I didn’t waste precious time that night when I called you. I wish I remembered to say I’d do anything for you. Maybe I pushed you away because I thought that I’d bore you.”
Following her 2018 album “Queen,” Minaj has maintained her creative momentum by dropping singles like “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and “Super Freaky Girl.” She also joined forces with artists such as Ice Spice, Sexyy Red, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Yung Bleu, and Kim Petras for collaborative tracks.
In other news, the “Only” artist took legal action against an alleged swatter. She announced on Wednesday (Aug. 23) that she had identified the individual as Stephanie Bell. Minaj expressed her gratitude for the detective work that led to this outcome and mentioned that charges were filed for the swatting call and a false report to the Department of Children and Family Services.
