Presidential hopeful Peter Obi has voiced his dismay at the tragic events unfolding in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where six sisters and their father were recently abducted, leading to the death of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a student at Ahmadu Bello University.

Expressing his concern on Twitter, Obi remarked on the profound implications of the incident, stating, “The reported tragic killing of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar… not only shows how insecurity currently ravages the nation but also shows how helpless Nigerians have become in the face of these dangers.”

He underscored the responsibility of leaders to safeguard every citizen, empathizing with the affected family and urging a collective effort to address the escalating insecurity across the country.

“The trauma being experienced by this family and the blood of this innocent child should prick our conscience as leaders,” Obi emphasized, urging increased security measures nationwide. He called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts in rescuing the remaining captives and ensuring the safety of all citizens.

Expressing his deep sympathy, Obi extended condolences to the grieving family and offered prayers for the deceased, saying, “I sincerely commiserate with the bereaved family and pray God Almighty to forgive Nabeehav Al-Kadriyar’s sins and grant her eternal rest, and grant the rest of the family members their freedom from captivity. We shall conquer.”
