Blaqbonez Encourages Creatives to Stay Focused, Reflects on His Journey

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has shared words of advice for fellow creatives, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and persistent. He pointed out that not every talent remains relevant over time but expressed confidence in his own lasting impact on the music industry.

Recalling an experience from 2017, Blaqbonez spoke about an upcoming rapper who took a shot at him in a freestyle after securing a deal with Olamide’s YBNL Nation. The artist in question claimed that Blaqbonez would never make it in the industry.

Addressing the incident in a series of tweets, Blaqbonez wrote:

“When you got signed before me, you added my name to your freestyle—saying I’d never blow. Just because Olamide signed you, you thought he was God?

I hope you see these tweets and take a moment to reflect. You were quick to tear others down just because you thought you had made it. We were in rap battle groups together for years, but once you got a deal, you decided it was time to discredit my work ethic and my journey because you were convinced I’d never succeed.”

He went on to affirm his belief in his craft, stating, “Not every talent can last for years, but I know who I am. I will be here as long as I choose to be. The music I create is unique, and no one else can make it the way I do. I have fans who have been with me since the very beginning—not just those who discovered me with ‘Bling’ or other hits. The real ones know themselves.”

Blaqbonez’s message serves as a reminder that resilience and authenticity are key to longevity in any creative field.
