It’s a somber day in Nollywood as news breaks of the passing of Junior Pope Odonwodo, affectionately known as Jnr Pope.
Tragically, he lost his life on Wednesday afternoon while on a boat trip for a film shoot. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, confirmed the heartbreaking news to Channels Television, revealing that Junior Pope’s body has been taken to the morgue.
The accident also claimed the life of another crew member, with three others still missing. The boat, carrying five individuals, capsized after a collision with another boat in the River Niger area of Anambra State.
Just before the unfortunate incident, Junior Pope shared a video of himself in a speedboat, expressing concern over the risks involved in their work, notably the lack of life jackets.
