Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has announced that her debut series, Last Year Single, will finally premiere on Netflix on September 6, 2024. The series, produced in 2020, has been highly anticipated by fans.
Omoni Oboli began her acting journey in 1996 with Bitter Encounter. Over the years, her talent has earned her accolades, including Best Actress at the Los Angeles Movie Awards and the Harlem International Film Festival in 2010. She was also nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2011 Africa Movie Academy Awards. Her filmography boasts hits like Moms At War and the upcoming Wives on Strike: The Uprising, set to release next month.
In her announcement, Oboli shared her excitement: “This Friday, the only plan is Netflix! Last Year Single is finally here, and trust me, it’s the hottest series you’ll see!”
Last Year Single was delayed due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Written by Joy Bewaji and produced by Tomi Adeoye, the series follows the lives of three women in their 30s as they navigate the challenges of love, relationships, and financial independence.
The stellar cast includes Bimbo Ademoye, Toni Tones, Mawuli Gavor, and Uzoma Osimkpa, bringing their talent and energy to this heartfelt and relatable drama.
