Panic! Brendon Urie, frontman of At The Disco, announced the band’s breakup, saying, “Sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin.”

Urie, the band’s lead singer, revealed in a statement Tuesday that he and his wife, Sarah, are expecting their first child “very soon,” and that he is looking forward to “this next adventure.”

“That being said, I’m going to close this chapter of my life and devote my time and energy to my family, and with that, Panic! There will be no more At The Disco “He stated.

“I’ve sat here trying to think of the perfect way to say this, and I truly can’t express how much it means to us,” Urie added. “Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just discovering us, it’s been a pleasure not only to share the stage with so many talented people but also to share our time with you.”

On February 20, the pop rock band will begin its “Viva La Vengeance” tour in Europe and the United Kingdom. The tour concludes on March 10th.

“I’m excited to see everyone in Europe and the United Kingdom for one last run together,” Urie said.

In 2020, Urie spoke with CBS NEWS’ Michelle Miller about a nonprofit called Notes for Notes that helps children discover their musical talents.

“If I had access to this studio when these kids were younger, I would have been much better prepared and versed in the music industry. When ‘Panic’ began, we just dove in head first “He stated.

Panic! was founded in 2004 by Urie and his childhood friends in Las Vegas. The band has released seven albums since then and has a number of memorable songs, including “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.” They were nominated for three Grammys and won MTV’s Video of the Year award in 2006.
