Dimitri Von Leuschner, played by Peter Porte, made his debut in the “Days of Our Lives” spinoff series “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem” in 2021. In that storyline, he posed as ISA agent Kyle Graham, attempting to use city-leveling lasers for blackmail. His sinister plan was foiled, leading to his imprisonment.

Fast forward to May 2023, Dimitri resurfaced on the main show, disclosing his connection to the villain Megan DiMera, portrayed by Miranda Wilson. In a twist of fate, Dimitri learned that marrying before his 40th birthday would secure him the Von Leuschner fortune. He schemed his way into a marriage with Gwen Risczech, played by Emily O’Brien, while simultaneously having a secret affair with Leo Stark, portrayed by Greg Rikaart. Gwen, upon discovering the truth, left town heartbroken.

As Dimitri’s past caught up with him, he and Leo went on the run, resulting in a car accident involving a pregnant Nicole Walker, portrayed by Arianne Zucker. A complex baby swap unfolded, leading Nicole and her husband EJ DiMera, played by Daniel Feuerriegel, to believe their infant had died. Leo escaped but was later apprehended, forcing Dimitri to surrender to ensure his lover’s freedom. Subsequently, Dimitri is now serving time in a supermax prison, marking Peter Porte’s exit from the soap.

Though imprisoned, Dimitri has already clashed with Lucas Horton, portrayed by Bryan Dattilo, on a recent episode. Lucas was angered as Dimitri had previously kidnapped his mother, Kate Roberts, portrayed by Lauren Koslow. With more characters finding themselves behind bars on “Days,” the possibility of Porte returning to Salem remains high. However, Porte is actively engaged in other projects, including his recent Christmas telefilm “Yuletide the Knot,” which premiered on December 3.

While we look forward to Porte’s upcoming ventures, there’s a lingering hope that Dimitri will return to stir up chaos on “Days” in the future!
