On Tuesday, police officers fired teargas at protesters in Abuja during the #FearlessOctober demonstration, aimed at protesting against the ongoing economic hardships and rising poverty. The protest saw participation from many Nigerians in both the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Lagos.

Reports from SaharaReporters indicate that law enforcement officials were seen firing teargas canisters and ammunition at peaceful protesters voicing their concerns over the hardships they face under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Witnesses say the protestors, who had gathered peacefully, were forced to flee for safety in areas around Jabi and Utako after the teargas was released. The #FearlessOctober protest reflects growing frustration among Nigerians, who are demanding solutions to the worsening economic conditions in the country.
