The police have addressed earlier reports regarding the alleged arrest of a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) journalist and his cameraman during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest. In an official statement, the police have categorically denied the claims surrounding the journalist’s detention and have provided clarification on the matter.

According to the police statement, the reports suggesting the arrest of the BBC reporter and cameraman are entirely unfounded and should not be given any credence. The police clarified that these reports are not based on fact.

The statement from the police reads as follows: “The Police have noted with concern an erroneous report circulating in certain media outlets, claiming that a BBC reporter and his cameraman were apprehended.”

“The police wish to officially state that this report is inaccurate and should be disregarded.” Furthermore, the police went on to explain that during the dispersal of the unlawful demonstrators, a group of individuals was apprehended and taken to the police station. In the process of screening these detainees, two individuals identified themselves as journalists, and they were promptly released without any further delay.

In essence, the police have refuted claims of the journalist’s arrest and emphasized that there was no such occurrence. They have clarified that the journalists, upon identification, were allowed to go about their duties after being briefly screened during the dispersal of protestors.
