South Africa’s electricity minister has arrived in Tshwane, the municipality that includes the capital, Pretoria, following the collapse of seven pylons on Sunday evening.
Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink stated that criminal vandalism was most likely to blame.
On Tuesday, Power Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa met with Mr. Brink and other city officials.
The mayor agreed to “work with us as we seek to restore power as quickly as possible,” according to a tweet:
