He maintains a stiff upper lip.
Prince William brushed off a reporter’s attempt to ask if he’s read his brother Prince Harry’s bombshell tell-all, “Spare,” as the Prince and Princess of Wales exited an event on Thursday.
“Have you had a chance to read your brother’s book, Your Royal Highness?” According to video footage obtained by ITV, the correspondent shouted twice.
William made no response to the question and quickly exited the charity with his wife, Kate Middleton, who also ignored it.
The royal couple’s visit to the Open Door Charity in Birkenhead, England, was their second since Harry’s memoir was published on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day on Thursday, the couple visited the newly opened Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where they spoke with staff and learned about the medical center.
Despite the allegations made against them and other members of the royal family in the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, Middleton, 41, and William, 40, appeared to be in good spirits.
In the book, Harry claims that William physically assaulted him after referring to Meghan Markle, his younger brother’s wife, as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”
“Everything happened so quickly. So quickly. He grabbed my collar, ripped my necklace, and threw me to the ground,” he wrote.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back and cut into me. I lay there dazed for a moment before getting to my feet and telling him to leave.”
Harry also claimed that after his birth, his father, King Charles III, referred to him as a “spare” son. He also claimed that his father told him that the royal family lacked “enough money” to support Markle.
While Buckingham Palace has opted to remain quiet about the allegations made in Harry’s book, royal expert Katie Nicholl said that, per her sources, “William’s privately seething and devastated by what Harry has done. And I just can’t forgive Harry for what he’s written.”
