Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West and brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been released on bail set at ₦5 million.
Sammy regained his freedom on Monday, November 10, 2025, after spending several days in detention. He was earlier remanded at the Keffi Prison by a Dutse Magistrate Court before being moved to Suleja Prison.
His older brother, known on Instagram as @Sweezzy1, shared the good news on his story, writing, “Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.”
Police Confirmed His Arrest and Court Case
Earlier, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command had confirmed Sammy’s arrest and arraignment over multiple alleged offences.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, a petition was filed on October 28 accusing Sammy and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
Adeh explained that Sammy ignored several police invitations, leading officers to arrest him in Lagos under a court-issued warrant.
She stated that he was later taken to Abuja for further investigation and subsequently charged to court on November 6, 2025. Sammy was then remanded until he met his bail conditions.
The police statement added, “Following investigations, Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu was arraigned for offences including conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft. He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.”
