Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has spoken out for the first time since learning she had not been invited to King Charles’ coronation. There was much speculation about who would be invited to the royal event, particularly the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Prince Andrew.
Sarah Ferguson, the latter’s ex-wife, stated on Good Morning Britain that she is not offended by the’snub’ to her coronation, explaining that she believes the decision is perfectly reasonable.
“I’m not going because it’s a state occasion, and I don’t think you can have it both ways if you’re divorced.” I’m divorced and I’m really enjoying being divorced from my ex-husband, not from him but to him; this distinction is important.
In contrast to Meghan Markle, who has been accused of wanting the best of both worlds on numerous occasions, Ferguson insisted that “you mustn’t sit on the fence” when it comes to royal matters. “You can’t be on the fence.” Don’t muck around, you’re either in or out.”
Despite the royal family’s turbulent few months due to the events surrounding Harry and Meghan, Andrew’s ex-wife believes Charles and Camilla are doing an excellent job of uniting the family. “The great thing about this time in history is family unity, and I believe Charles and Camilla are doing an exceptional job of unifying the family.”
Leave Andrew Alone
Prince Andrew is another figure who has recently been in the spotlight, albeit for all the wrong reasons. The prince has a tumultuous sexual history and has been linked to the heinous crimes of pedophile and sex trafficker Jeffery Epstein, who was accused of sexually assaulting Virginia Guiffre.
During a recent interview, Ferguson came to her ex-husband’s defense. “Prince Andrew is such a good man. “He’s a good man, and I think the spotlight should be taken off him so he can get on with his life and rebuild,” she said.
The couple has two children: daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.
