Emmy nominee Issa Rae expands her network by welcoming Scottie Beam and Sylvia Obell to her audio division, Raedio. According to a report by Variety on Tuesday (June 27), the dynamic duo has secured a deal to host their own talk show.

Titled “The Scottie & Sylvia Show,” the podcast is set to premiere on July 6 and promises an engaging exploration of cultural and trending topics. Alongside captivating celebrity interviews, the upcoming show will showcase the well-established rapport between the hosts.

Beam and Obell, known for their collaborative work on the popular podcast “Okay, Now Listen,” bring their wealth of media experience to this new venture. “I’m a huge fan of their natural and humorous chemistry,” expressed Rae. “Scottie and Sylvia are authentic and relatable, and I’m grateful that they have chosen Raedio as their podcasting home.”

Beam and Obell bring impressive experience to the table, with Beam’s background as a producer at HOT 97 and co-host of REVOLT’s “State of the Culture,” and Obell’s reputation as a reporter for BuzzFeed and Essence, having her work featured in various outlets.

When it comes to partnering with Raedio, Obell feels it’s a perfect match, as the platform recognizes and values their contributions as Black creators while providing the necessary resources. She expressed her excitement, saying, “Working with a Black woman-owned company feels incredible and completely aligns with our values and vision for the show.”

Notably, their upcoming series will join a remarkable lineup of Raedio shows, including “Fruit,” “Looking For Latoya,” and “We Stay Looking.”

This exciting partnership marks a significant step in the company’s commitment to diverse content, led by Raedio’s Senior Director Dzifa Yador, and President Benoni Tagoe. “The Scottie & Sylvia Show” is not only a talk show but also the first of its kind on the station, showcasing its carefully curated content and cultural significance.

Raedio is thrilled to support Scottie and Sylvia as they make their highly anticipated return to the microphone, stated Yador. He emphasized that there is no other duo who better understands the experiences of Black women and creative professionals than these two.

Aside from her involvement with Raedio, Issa Rae has already made a name for herself in the music industry through her comedy-drama series “Insecure,” which premiered in 2016. The accompanying soundtrack featured renowned artists such as Saweetie, Bryson Tiller, Jazmine Sullivan, and SZA, just to name a few.
