The Oscar-nominated actress isn’t thrilled with a reality star stealing the spotlight from trained actors on the popular FX series.

Kim Kardashian’s casting in the upcoming season of Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” has caused quite a stir in the acting world. Patti LuPone, a Broadway legend, was the first to express her displeasure, and now Sharon Stone has joined the chorus.

Stone, an Oscar nominee, commented on LuPone’s reaction on Access Hollywood’s Instagram post, stating that acting is an art that requires hard work and dedication. She emphasized the effort that actors put into their craft by referring to author Malcolm Gladwell’s theory that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to achieve success in any skill.

Patti LuPone calls out Kim Kardashian’s lack of acting experience

LuPone, who starred in two seasons of “AHS,” recently expressed her dissatisfaction during a Q&A segment on “Watch What Happens Live.” She expressed her displeasure at seeing a celebrity with no acting experience cast in an acting role.

“Excuse me, Kim, you know, what are you doing with your life?” LuPone inquired, referring to the character of Mrs. Worthington in Noel Coward’s 1935 song “Mrs. Worthington.”

On April 10, Kardashian announced her casting on Instagram, along with a teaser video for the series. While she has had minor roles in films and on television, this will be her first major acting role.

The uproar over Kardashian’s casting highlights the value of hard work and dedication in the acting industry. Success in any skill, as Stone and LuPone have emphasized, requires practice and effort, and actors should be recognized for their talent and dedication to their craft.
