Skales Opens Up About Love, Growth, and What It Means to Be a Real Man
Nigerian artist Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, is getting candid about love — and what it really means to show up for the women in your life.
In a heartfelt post on social media, the 34-year-old rapper shared that loving a woman wholeheartedly shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness. In fact, he believes it’s one of the strongest things a man can do.
“Love her till she don’t hurt no more,” he wrote, encouraging men to lead with honesty, care, and compassion. According to Skales, women already face enough challenges in life — the least a man can do is be part of the healing, not the hurt.
He opened up about how his upbringing shaped his perspective. Raised by a single mother, Skales said he’s witnessed firsthand the sacrifices women make and the strength they carry in silence. That experience, he explained, gave him a deeper appreciation for the emotional and physical toll many women endure.
Looking back, Skales admitted he hasn’t always gotten it right. “I’ve been immature before,” he confessed. But now, he’s committed to growth — not just as an artist, but as a man. His vow? To be someone who loves better, treats women with respect, and doesn’t shy away from being emotionally available.
“Showing affection doesn’t make you soft,” he added. “It makes you real.”
