Simone Biles is now Mrs. Owens! On Saturday, the four-time Olympic gold medalist announced her marriage to Jonathan Owens via Instagram.
The wedding party appeared to be four people: Biles, Owens, the judge who married them, and the photographer who captured the momentous occasion. Owens can be seen raising his right fist in the air in celebration in the launch image, while Biles, dressed elegantly in a white gown, looks up and smiles.
Owens, a Houston Texans safety, wore a beige suit with a white dress shirt and white loafers. Biles wore a full-length white layered gown with minimal jewelry and her hair in a ponytail. Another photo showed the couple holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes as the ceremony was performed by a judge in a black robe.
Biles simply wrote in her caption, “I do officially Owens.” Owens didn’t waste any time in expressing his feelings, saying, “Wifey got a great ring to it First day of forever.” “My person, forever #TheOwens #itsofficial,” Owens captioned his post, and Biles commented, “I love you, husband.”
The happy couple married in Texas, though it’s unclear when. But it was only last week that Biles, who once said that an engagement ring is more important than a gold medal, took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself and Owens holding their marriage license.
“[A]lmost time to say “I do,” she captioned her Instagram post.
On Valentine’s Day, Owens proposed to Biles. “THE EASIEST YES,” she captioned a slideshow of photos from the romantic moment when Owens proposed. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you; you’re everything I’ve ever wanted and more!” Let’s tie the knot, FIANCÉ @jowens_3.”
