Pelé, a superstar in Brazilian soccer and possibly the best player in football history, has passed away.

 

After a protracted fight with cancer, the three-time World Cup champion passed suddenly in a Sao Paulo hospital while being attended by loved ones.
In order to aid him in his battle against the illness, Pelé had spent the previous year going in and out of hospitals. He was initially given the disease’s diagnosis in 2021.
Unfortunately, his condition lately deteriorated, requiring him to spend the previous two months in a hospital bed.

In his final days, Pelé was able to watch the 2022 World Cup, and following the thrilling Argentina vs. France final last weekend, he even sent a post on his social media profile congratulating Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
After an outstanding performance for Brazil earlier in the renowned event, he had also sent a heartfelt letter to Neymar.
When he was just 16 years old, Pelé joined Brazil’s national team. In 1958, at the age of 17, he won his first World Cup.
Later, under his direction, Brazil won the competition twice more, in 1962 and 1970.
He is considered to be one of the all-time great goal scorers, and Cristiano Ronaldo once referred to him as “the greatest player in football history.”
He was 82.
