President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo emphasized his sole responsibility for the current economic challenges as the head of the government during his State of the Nation address in Parliament on Tuesday, February 27.

According to the Ghanaian constitution, the head of state is entrusted with the responsibility for economic management. President Akufo-Addo reiterated that the buck stops with him, acknowledging that he takes the blame for the country’s economic challenges.

In a related development, Hopeson Adorye, a former member of the NPP, expressed pessimism about the party’s chances in the 2024 general elections. He asserted that the NPP is destined to lose and transition into opposition status.

Adorye highlighted President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation address, suggesting that it signifies the party’s inevitable move into opposition. He emphasized his belief that the NPP cannot secure victory in the 2024 elections under any circumstances.

President Akufo-Addo’s address to Parliament is expected to cover updates across various sectors, including security, governance, education, health, infrastructure, and the ongoing fight against corruption.
